Our Program guides - K.C. and Dave

Dave Streeter, a naturalist, ski tour guide, and ski instructor, plays the banjo and guitar, sings, and tells stories about bears, avalanches, mountain goats, and other wild subjects in the Glacier National Park area.

K.C. is responsible for the Elderhostel programs at the Flathead Valley Community College.

We stayed in staff housing within the Park Headquarters. This was our cabin along with two other couples.

This article appeared in the Hungry Horse News on September 19, 2002.

One of our first projects was constructing 19 shutters to be used in restoring a ranger lookout. After we finished, these shutters were flown by helicopter to the lookout site.

Another project was to renovate a ranger cabin. We replaced damaged siding and painted the cabin.

On our return trip from Two Medicine Lake, we visited the East Glacier Lodge. This is the main lobby with the tall tree columns.

Another project was the exterior restoration of the Museum and Archives Buildiing. Damaged siding was replaced, caulking was done, then the building was spray painted.
