The Apache Lake Resort is only accessable from the Apache Trail. This trail is really a gravelled road that provides remarkable scenic views for passengers, but terror for drivers.

|Naturalist Mike Seidman discussed the variety and challenges to the birds, wildlife and plants in the Salt River and Apache Trail environments. After this presentation, Mike led us through a nature walk.

Geologist Jas Jones described the varied geological processes to be found in the Apache Lake Area. Following this lecture, we were shown some of these formations that can be seen from the lake.
